An exploration of the pieces of a woman: STRENGTH • SENSUALITY • STRUCTURE • September 16 through October 28

Curated by Katherine Tolve, this first of it’s kind exhibit, is a collective comprised of mother artists with young children. Each artist approaches her creative process differently. Simultaneously each shares the task of rewriting the myth surrounding female artist with children. This exhibit is Sponsored by The Ensworth Foundation of the Bank of America Philanthropic Solutions.

Join us for a Silent Auction and Donation Drive at Windsor Art Center. Five original collaborative paintings created by the Mother’s In Art Artist Collective will be auctioned off during the opening reception, and, 50% of proceeds go directly to local women/children charity. Donation Drive is seeking diapers, laundry detergent, paper towels, feminine products, personal care items and bath towels.

Book Signing with Artist Cassia Coggerat. Exhibiting artist Cassia Cogger will sign and discuss her book Creating Personal Mandalas: story circle techniques in watercolor and mixed media.

Live Painting with Artist Jess Franks. Stop by The Windsor Art Center and witness Jess creating one of her stunning paintings. Prepare to be inspired.

Little Artist mini program will be held at the Windsor Art Center from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM each Thursday through October 12. This mini program is intended for children ages 2-5 (older and younger siblings welcome) children will enjoy listening to stories and will create a craft. Led by artist/educator Katherine Tolve.

Join us for a FREE movie night with Popcorn and Pizza! A film profiling independent artists who turn friendships and virtual connections into real world collaborations. Explore the benefits and challenges of creating independently, how to find like-minded others and what’s possible when makers join forces to create together.

SATURDAY • September 30, 1-3 PM.
Workshop: Through your eyes. 
Come and create your very own work of art using mixed-media collage technique. Express and highlight the unique aspects of your neighborhood and create a sense of place with artist Meredith Arcari. Workshop: $30  (pay by check or PayPal) Materials fee: $10 (paid to instructor).

FRIDAY • October 13, 5-9:00 PM.
Workshop: Intro to Linocut. One of the simplest of all printmaking methods, linocut is a great technique to get you started in printmaking. Printmaker Kathleen Woodward takes you through the process of designing and carving your own linoleum block to create a small edition of printed images. Walk away with your block carving, a beautiful suite of unique– editioned set of prints, and the skills to make more! Workshop fee: $40 (pay by check or PayPal)  Materials: $40 (paid to instructor).
