What’s Happening

The Windsor Art Center will remain closed until April 22, 2020 per Governor Lamont’s new Executive order telling Connecticut residents to “Stay Safe, Stay Home.” All non-essential businesses or nonprofit entities shall reduce the in-person workforce at each business location by 100% statewide, effective Monday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. For the latest information, resources, executive orders, and guidance related to coronavirus (COVID-19), visit ct.gov/coronavirus.

The Windsor Art Center remains proud and thankful for its community and people that make this town so cherished. As we are all aware of the cautions recommended for us to all stay healthy and safe during this time, we are actively following all state and public health guidance regarding the Coronavirus.

This juried show, includes artists in the Connecticut region of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) who submitted these quilts for display and judging. They reveal a broad range of metaphors evoked by this year’s theme of human-built and nature-carved modes of movement and transportation and the people who build and/or use them. Participating artists have explored the theme’s variety of meanings, images and experiences and have interpreted the theme in their own unique way. In their quilts, they employ metaphors denoting connection, journey, coming and going, liquid vs solid, trips, and travels. Read more…
